North Luangwa National Park
North Luangwa National Park – as the name mentions this is the park lying to the North of South Luangwa in the upper Luangwa Valley and is largely undeveloped hence it became a successful walking safari reserve. However over time infrastructure has improved, and greater accessibility via the road network is available allowing for more regular game drives, both night and day. Vegetation includes miombo woodland, scrubland and riverine forest. The park is very remote which suits many specialist adventurers wanting to explore the very best of Africa. Best way to access the park is a 45 minute (approximate) charter flight from Mfuwe (or a 6 hour drive by road). If time allows during your stay, a must is to visit the waterfalls located near the foot of the Muchinga Escarpment.
