Lower Zambezi National Park

Lower Zambezi National Park - the Lower Zambezi NP extends for 120km along the Zambezi River and expands around 35 km inland tucked in by the Zambezi Escarpment.  Again with its relatively close proximately to Lusaka, it makes for a nice getaway.  Flight time is around 30 minutes and the drive is between 2 and 4 hours depending on which section of the park you are heading to.  Again this area is wonderful for game viewing but also for fly and conventional fishing – great for catching bream, chessa, vundu and tiger. Note that all fishing in the park is on a tag and release basis. Game viewing is best from July to October and good in May and June.  Best Fishing months are September, October and first 2 weeks of November. Canoe trips along the Zambezi River, is a wonderful way to experience Zambia. There is no better way to take in the tranquillity by quietly passing by the varied and plentiful array of birdlife.
