Less than two hours from Kampala, Jinja is where, in 1862, John Hanning Speke (British Explorer) identified the cascades of the Ripon Falls as the original source of the Nile.  Itanda Falls is 8km upstream, a picturesque stretch of river offering some of the best whitewater rafting in Africa. Jinja and Itanda Falls are the centre of Uganda’s biggest attraction for adrenaline seekers, The River Nile. The climate offers year round warm temperatures and sunny skies making for vibrant sunrises and red glistening sunsets. The river is alive with chirping monkeys and flittering birds.
